Big Dog

Sometimes I wonder what life is like through a dog’s lens. Over a year ago my family decided to get a new puppy to add to the family. I decided to name him Pedro. Pedro is 25% Yorkshire Terrier, 25% Maltese, and 50% Shih Tzu. Pedro ended up being a very interesting individual. Starting with the way he used to look, he had dark brown fur, which was lighter near the roots. Then one random day he got a haircut and came back a light sand colour that is very close to white!
He seems to have developed a taste for things that are not edible. If you give him food, he might not even be interested in what you put in front of him, but the moment he finds a phone charger, he feels like he is eating a premium Japanese A5 Wagyu steak. His favourite late night snack is a roll of toilet paper. To him, it is a meal that even Gordon Ramsey himself could not replicate.
When it comes to play, he is very predictable. One of his favourite things to do is play tug of war. He gets very into it, and tries his hardest. Another thing he likes to do is play fetch. I could be throwing the same toy in the exact same location and it seems he does not lose any interest. His most favourite way to play, however, is to be chased. He seems to like the thrill of the chase. Sometimes a bit too much. If I need to grab him to take him out, he thinks I am chasing him and starts running. The best way to counter this is to go the other way because then he will start to chase you!
There are times when I feel envious towards Pedro. I mean if you think about it, the only thing he ever needs to worry about is when he needs to poop, sleep, and play. That sounds like a simple life to me!
